Public Policy Work
CLC attorneys continue their advocacy for youth outside the courtroom and traditional legal settings by engaging in large scale reforms with all three branches of government– legislative, administrative, and judicial– on behalf of youth. These reforms focus either on supporting changes that would have a positive impact on youth or advocating against changes that could negatively impact youth. CLC also helps create a stronger voice for youth by working in partnership with other youth advocates. We have helped to make significant changes in:
Youth held in adult jails in Ohio.
Improving mental health delivery systems in Kentucky.
Advocating better juvenile justice policies for youth in Kentucky.
Ensuring access to counsel for youth in the delinquency system in Ohio.
