NKU Chase Children’s Law Center Clinic
“One of the most exciting things about the Clinic is that students come in thinking and acting like students and graduate thinking and acting like lawyers.” - NKU Chase CLC Clinic Director, Professor Amy Halbrook
The NKU Chase Children’s Law Center Clinic is a collaboration that began in 2011 between CLC and Chase College of Law. The Clinic is an educational and practice model that allows law students to gain real-world experience representing young clients while being closely supervised by Chase professors Jennifer Brinkman and Amy Halbrook. Once oriented to practice, students are assigned to actual cases.
Through participation in the Clinic, students develop skills necessary to the successful practice of law and are exposed to multiple perspectives on justice, fairness and morality. Each student, preparing to soon become a lawyer, is encouraged to reflect on attorneys' roles and ethical responsibilities. The Clinic is housed on the third floor of CLC’s office in Covington, Kentucky and supervises 6 students per semester. For more info on the requirements and how to apply - Click Here
